Many men, particularly after retirement, experience loneliness and isolation, feeling the need to reconnect with their community and discover a new sense of purpose, but aren’t always sure where to begin. Others may simply want to pick up a new skill or revisit old ones.
Inside the Shed you might find several men building furniture, restoring bicycles for a local school, crafting Mynah bird traps, repairing lawn mowers, or creating a cubby house to be raffled by Camp Quality.
You may also spot a few young men working alongside older ones, gaining new skills and learning life lessons from their mentors. Local elders might be seen crafting traditional weapons or creating arts and crafts. There will likely be tea bags, coffee cups, and a cozy space where men can relax and chat. Additionally, you’ll probably find an area where men can learn to cook for themselves or stay connected with their families through computers.
