Heading off to Malmo Sweden in June 2025 and Spain in October 2025 representing Australia in the Walking Football for over 70s IWFF (International Walking Football Federation) world championships.
Born in Bulford, England in 1954. Came to Australia in December 1970.
Played Football and represented the North Eastern Soccer League in the early seventies. Switched to playing in the local league in Albury/Wondonga throughout the late seventies to mid-eighties before moving to Melbourne.
Because of work commitments continued playing whilst moving around the state and periods overseas in Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. Continued playing into the eighties and nineties in Victorian league and Country Victorian leagues in areas such as Ballarat & Shepperton.
Throughout this time, I played as sweeper with all the clubs I was involved until my eventual retirement from competitive football in the early nineties.
Having continued playing social football once I retired and have not missed a season, so have been continually playing since 1970. Play every Thursday night 52 weeks of the year in Social Veterans for Sunbury United Football Club and started playing Walking Football for the club when I retired from work in August 2023. Was a member of the first walking Football Champions of Victoria in 2022 in a tournament held in Epping, Victoria.
Currently Team Manager and assistant to Sunbury United Reserves Coach and still having a run with Masters Football every Wednesday as well as playing Walking Football on Tuesdays and Veterans All-in on Thursdays. So fair to say, I;m still very active on and off the pitch in both forms of the Beautiful Game.
I believe my strengths are my ability to control games from the back and passing. Extremely vocal on the pitch and pride myself on not losing that competitive edge. Though short in stature this now an attribute as height (or lack off) is no longer a disadvantage in Walking Football.
