Older Men: New Ideas (OM:NI) provides informal and friendly discussion groups for men aged 50 and over. The groups offer an opportunity to meet others, share experiences, exchange knowledge and enjoy good conversation in a relaxed social setting. OM:NI groups have been operating in Victoria since 2004 and can now be found throughout metropolitan Melbourne as well as in some regional communities.
Most local OM:NI men’s discussion groups meet either monthly or fortnightly in a relaxed and friendly setting. A facilitator guides the conversation, encouraging everyone to participate, listen to one another and share their experiences. Groups follow simple guidelines based on confidentiality, acceptance and mutual respect. Meetings are designed to be enjoyable, informative and engaging, with plenty of opportunities for interesting conversation and a few laughs along the way.
